Where it all started and why

OCRaddix was started as a race team that could include everyone.
Jason and Julie co-founded OCRaddix in the spring of 2017 as a way to link friends who wanted to race together. As the team grew, so did our passion for the sport.  We have taken teams of 75+ to races, assisted in adaptive athlete races and managed to develop an atmosphere where support and encouragement are at a highest elevation. Together we have over 120+ races within most race brands in the east. We love the backyard ocr all
the way to the international brands.
Jason is a Spartan obstacle specialist, OCR trainer and certified PT. Julie is a boxing coach and OCR trainer.
We enjoy teaching others about OCR, recruiting new people to the sport, training our team and watching each other and the team accomplish goals.  Obstacles on the course are not that much different from obstacles in life. We strive to overcome and persevere on the course and help others overcome whatever course or life obstacles they are facing.  No one is ever left on the course alone.
Our mission is to provide a positive and supportive team atmosphere to encourage people to overcome obstacles on and off the course.

Our team encompasses beginners, elites, hobby racers, those beginning their fitness journey,
personal trainers, adaptive athletes & all levels of fitness.
We offer race scholarships to athletes who are working hard to get on the course, but have circumstances that prevent it due to physical disabilities or financial struggle.
We have training every Thursday evening and race monthly at events all over the South East.
See the Join OCRaddix link for Training & racing info and how to become an OCRaddix!

JOIN US

OCRaddix offers a unique team atmosphere to race in. There is no "fee" to be a part of the OCRaddix team.
We have elite, age group and open heat racers. For those of you looking to run age group, the rules are simple and no help can be given on the course. The addix role in your race is training, motivation and race day cheering section.
We run all brands of races and do not favor one over the other as a team. Ask any of our members about their favorite races and it will vary on answers!
For open racers, the team will start together at the start time designated by the race company.  You are not required to stay with the team and may run your own race. For new racers, do not worry, we will not leave you. One of the Addix coaches, pro-team members or ambassadors will stay with the pack.  The goal of this group is to simply finish the race, have a great time and leave no one behind!  You can receive help on most obstacles in the open waves and that is what we are here for.  Ready to rock your first race? Zach Phillips

Zach began racing in 2015 with a Spartan Super and since then he has ran over 15 Spartans. He has ran everything from sprints to stadiums to ultras. Not only experienced with Spartans, Zach loves racing all different types of obstacle course races. Two of his favorite courses have been the Bonefrog Talladega Race and the Green Beret Race.

Zach trains by running trails throughout the week and taking classes at Our House Studios. He focuses on lifting heavy through CrossFit style workouts and short, fast paced runs a few times a week. He uses the Strava app to track his runs.

Zach made the podium in the 2019 Spartan Sprint at Lake Lanier. He also placed 3rd in his age group in the 2017 Spartan Sprint at Lake Lanier. Some endurance races Zach has completed have been the Spartan Ultra 2018, Bonefrog Trident 2019, and the Bonefrog Endurance- 5 laps in 2018.

Outside of racing, Zach loves sports, being outside, and traveling. His future goals include getting the podium for 1st place in his age group and place well in a Spartan elite race. Coming soon, Zach is ready to get a Spartan Trail Race marked off of his list, along with earning his triple trifecta in 2019.
